  • FILL IN THE BLANKS

Completely fill in all blank spaces in your document before your notary arrives. Documents without a notary certificate will not be notarized.

    WAIT TO SIGN

Do not sign your document until you are in the presence of your notary.

    CLARIFY QUESTIONS IN ADVANCE

If you have questions about how to complete the document, contact the person who drafted or requested the document. A notary public is unable to provide legal advice or assistance in the drafting and/or completion of any documents.

    BRING ID

The individual signing the document must physically appear in person and present a valid picture ID such as: Government ID · Driver's License · Passport · Military ID

    GET A WITNESS

It's important to have all your documents and identification ready for your notary. If the individual signing does not have and is unable to get an ID (an elderly person confined to a retirement home, for example) he or she may still be able to sign. In this case, a witness must be present who can attest to the identity of the signer. When you reach out about your appointment, please let me know if a signer cannot get ID so we can plan accordingly in advance.

    CERTIFY COPIES

For copy certifications, the original document must be present. Vital records (birth, death, and marriage) cannot be notarized. Item description
